Our Mission and Beliefs

About the Church

Our Values

We want to connect with you.

We value you as an essential individual our whole church family wants to connect with and help in their lifelong journey to connect closer to God. The heartbeat of this church is connecting to God in a personal relationship, helping you connect to God through your own personal relationship with Him, connecting to our community around us and those in need, and connecting with each other as a body of believers and church family.

Family

A family sticks together through thick and thin. We want to be that for you and our community. We are not trying to be an exclusive club when we refer to ourselves as a church family. Instead, we are a family of believers that deeply care for God and each other as we lift each other up in times of need. The church family is non-discriminatory and welcomes all to be loved by God and each other.

God is the center of this church family, and we want to be more like Him in how we love each other and this community. This is why we heartily identify with James when he outlines what a church family should look like:

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. […] 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. […]

— James 5:13-16, ESV

Therefore, we know that a family that prays together, stays together. And we want you to be a part of that church family as we all grow closer to God.

Our Mission

In valuing God as the center of our church family and wanting to connect with you, we want to not only be a part of God’s redemptive story for humanity but also aid in His mission. Since the beginning of God’s story with Adam and Eve, God has always had a central mission to be in a real relationship with humanity—one where we freely choose to love Him. Since then, everything He has done, including saving us from sin on the cross and with His resurrection, has been to restore us to Him.

We believe our mission should look like His mission. Therefore, based on God’s mission and our values derived from His Word, our mission as a church family is connections: connect to God, connect to others, and connect with our purpose.

CONNECTIONS

  • Connect to God

  • Connect to Others

  • Connect to our Purpose

When we connect to God, we grow in Him and develop a deep personal relationship with our Savior.

When we connect to others, we build upon the church family, lifting each other up as described extensively in our values.

When we connect to our purpose, we want to help you connect to God and our church family at a deeper level, pray with you as you search to be filled with His Holy Spirit, and help you get involved in our church family in our mission to ultimately be a part of God’s story.

Our Beleifs

Christian Life Church is affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International, and we identify as Apostolic Pentecostal. What does this mean? It means that we uphold, value, and try to restore the experience in the story depicted in Acts 2 of the start of the church.

“For we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”

Acts 4:20, ESV

Because we have personally experienced His power in our life as a church family, we want to share this experience with others to become part of His story and our church family.

We believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We believe in the power of the name of Jesus. The same God (Yahweh) of the Old Testament was made manifest in the New Testament as Jesus Christ. We believe that we are saved by His grace through faith, but faith requires obedience and action. We pursue this action of our faith through

  • baptism in Jesus’ name,

  • living in the fruits of the Spirit,

  • operating in the gifts of the Spirit,

  • striving to live a holy life, and

  • obeying God’s command to go make disciples by pursuing our mission of connecting to God, connecting to others, and connecting to purpose.
